PEORIA—A middle-aged man sifted through clothing set on a table in a church parking lot on the East Bluff on a warm Friday afternoon in April.

“I need clothing bad and showers bad—and food,” he said. “To me, this is a godsend.”

The man, who said he was struggling with addiction, was being helped by DCPMobile, a ministry that goes out into the community weekly during warm weather to provide free clothing, laundry services, showers, haircuts, a hot meal, and the Gospel. (See this year's schedule.)
