PEORIA – A champion of the central Illinois pro-life effort has passed away.

Dan Bohan died Sunday at age 75.

Dan will be remembered among pro-lifers for his dedication to the Central Illinois Right to Life organization. His time on the CIRTL Board of Directors included efforts to get pro-life ads in local theaters. He also actively promoted "overpass demos," with pro-life activists standing on interstate overpasses holding signs, and always ensured that announcements of pro-life events were circulated through email.

"Dan Bohan was a stalwart defender of preborn children," said Dan Smith, another longtime pro-life advocate here. "He served as vice president and secretary of Central Illinois Right to Life, working tirelessly on all our projects and advocacy activities."

He was a longtime member of St. Philomena Catholic Church in Peoria.

Please keep Dan's family in your prayers as they grieve their loss, and thank God for using him to promote the cause of life in central Illinois.
