Q&A: Peoria City Councilman Denis Cyr 'keeps on serving'

Peoria businessman Denis Cyr was recently re-elected to a third term on the Peoria City Council, representing the city’s Fifth District. The former professional hockey player, who spent some time on the Peoria Rivermen and in the NHL, spoke with Amen Peoria about how his faith helps him serve his community.

Amen Peoria: Why did you run for a third term?

Denis Cyr: For many reasons, but the main thing is I want to finish what I started, number one. Number two, you know, I am a Christian man, and I believe in serving. I know it's kind of an old-fashioned thing, but I truly think God put in my heart to keep on serving, and I wanna keep going.
