Lyle Cruse uses art to bring light to social media
'What I do with social media is just create fun pictures that I can share with people. I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel. And honestly, I don’t think that’s what the Holy Spirit has for me in my niche.'
Lyle Cruse started drawing out of boredom.
“My parents used to go down to a diner when I was a little kid, and they would talk to their friends for an hour or 2 when I was, like, 3,” he said. “I would grab an old bank pen that my mom had in her purse and grab napkins and start drawing.”
That practice sparked a lifelong love for drawing and developed an impressive creativity. The Morton man’s day job now is managing the Creative Services department of Samaritan Ministries in Peoria. Apart from that and hanging with his family, he churns out pop culture images at an amazing rate, focusing on movies, cartoons, comics and TV shows, posting them for tens of thousands of followers on social media.
